???????????????????????????????

Invariably too busy for my own good, it’s just as well I don’t need that much sleep!

I’m a genealogist / family historian, with German-Jewish genealogy as my specialism.

I’m always far too busy for my own good, I’m determined, resilient, and have a big email backlog!!

I’m called Eva Karoline. Eva because my mother thought it meant ‘life’. It was the start of the rise of the Nazi party, but she was a determined optimist. Karoline for my great-grandmother. When we came to England, I changed the spelling to Caroline – German was taboo during the war. But afterwards I reverted to the K which was on my birth certificate. Then, years later I came across great-grandmother’s white linen wedding shift, carefully labelled in her daughter’s handwriting. The monogram was not KE, but CE. Spelling is a funny thing.
